“Rapsodia in Blue”, the only Italian film selected at the “Lady Filmmakers Festival” in Beverly Hills

“A series of windows lit, enigmatic in the evening light. An apartment where you can see the boxes of a move, some abstract paintings on the walls, a bottle of red enamel in the bathroom, a table set for two. After a year of separation, Luca and Laura meet again, full of all the embarrassment of those who loved each other and then lost sight of each other and certain that nothing will surprise them in the other: they know each other all too well. But they do not deal with life, which is never taken for granted. Nor with a skilful and suspended script, which suggests - between a word and a glance - that something will change. And it will change them. "

The short film Rhapsody in Blue, written and directed by Maria Carolina Salomé, leaves us waiting to know what will happen between them, a man and a woman as many and different from all: fragile, intense, full of subtleties, excited and exciting.

As you can guess, Rhapsody in Blue it is a real proof of an actor, indeed of actors. In a deliberately set design minimal, the tense and exciting unfolding of the plot is all entrusted to the two protagonists, Giulia Carpaneto Daste e Luigi Tuccillo. If the talented Giulia, from Genoa, who graduated from the Silvio D'Amico Academy of Dramatic Arts, has already distinguished herself in theater, cinema and TV seriestelevision and confirms his talent to the great, Luigi is a happy surprise. Neapolitan, a lawyer originally, for some years he dedicated himself with commitment and passion to the profession of actor. Known to the general public above all for being the "Claudio Settebellezze" of the last series of commercials crodino ("Bar Characters"), next to Owen Wilson, in the short film by Maria Carolina Salomè expresses its remarkable qualities: it is intense, allusive, ironic and extraordinarily natural in front of the camera.

«For me this work represented a turning point, both personal and professional. Thanks to all my colleagues and to Maria Carolina in particular, I seem to have deepened not only my professional potential, but also the awareness of my identity and my goals", he highlighted Luigi Tuccillo, heard on the phone.

The first of Rhapsody in Blue will be held tomorrow evening in Rome, at the Margutta Digital International hall, just before his cast leaves for Los Angeles. The short film by Maria Carolina Salomé - produced by Treeton, with original music by Anton Giulio Priolo played on piano by Stefania Tallini and edited by Marco Spoletini (Dogman) - is in fact the only Italian film to have been selected to participate in the tenth edition of Lady Filmmakers Festival, which sees among its promoters Sharon Stone.

Luigi, what do you expect from this opportunity overseas? «First of all I am happy because it is an important recognition for our work. And then I hope to receive a good reception and to learn. In Los Angeles I will stay a few months because, as they say, LA's the place. The "place" of cinema, innovation and opportunities».

We just have to wish good luck to Luigi Tuccillo and to Rhapsody in Blue. We can not wait to go further, in the feature film of which the short is a teaser, and to understand what answers Luca and Laura will give to their innumerable questions. Those boxes placed on the floor and that red enamel in the bathroom are perhaps the signal of a transformation that will come?
