The Postal Police of Potenza, in the context of the activity of contrasting the solicitation of minors online, directed by the local Public Prosecutor's Office and coordinated by the National Center for the Fight against Online Child Pornography (CNCPO) of the Postal and Communications Police Service, concluded two separate operations with the arrest of two Potentines for sexual violence and child pornography.
Both, a 27-year-old and a 50-year-old, using a similar modus operandi, lured minors on a well-known social network. For this purpose, they used fake profiles, attributable to teenage girls, who proposed to the unfortunates to participate in a photo contest of nude self-produced selfies, offering the prospect of winning prizes if they agreed.
Dozens of minors contacted in this way, but only 7 are the victims so far ascertained throughout Italy, induced to yield to the requests of the hookers, sending them intimate, self-produced images. Subsequently, the young women were also victims of sextortion, as the recipients of increasingly aggressive sexual blackmail by the aforementioned, with the threat of disclosing the nude photos already in their possession, if they did not share others of the same tenor.
As a result of the investigations carried out by the Postal Police of Potenza, the homes of the suspects were searched and numerous computer devices were seized, whose technical analysis made it possible to identify other minors, also tricked into taking selfies in erotic poses and to share them with the suspects.
For the serious facts committed, the Prosecutor from Potenza issued the precautionary measure of house arrest against the suspects, carried out in recent days by the staff of the Postal Police of Potenza.
