Air force medical flight to save man caught by illness

An emergency transport was carried out with a Falcon 50 of the 31 ° Stormo dell'Aeronautica to save a man in danger of life. This is the second surgery in two days.

The commitment of the Air Force does not stop today in favor of a man caught by a serious illness in the Pescara area. Another emergency flight had been carried out yesterday to save the life of a Sardinian baby girl only 10 days old.

Alerted by the Prefecture of Chieti, which asked for its immediate intervention, the Air Force Command Command Summit Situation Room, or the Air Force Operating Room which also has the task of organizing and managing this type of transport, immediately activated a Falcon 50, a plane of the 31st Storm of Ciampino.

The intervention was carried out on the Pescara - Venice section. The man, in danger of life and previously hospitalized at the Clinical PO "SS. Annunziata ”of Chieti, was embarked and transported to Venice to allow its subsequent admission to the Surgical Clinic III of the Padua Hospital.

Taking off from Pescara around 12:30, the landing in Venice ended around 13:15.

Interventions of this type are carried out by the Italian Air Force throughout the national territory. These are missions that require the utmost readiness and timeliness. Through its flight departments, the Air Force provides vehicles and crews ready to take off at any time to ensure the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life, as happened in the last two days, but also of organs and medical teams for transplants.
