Two helicopters TH-500B, a team of instructors and staff from 72 ° Stormo carried out a series of training missions at the airport of Vigna Antoniniana, Seat of the Historical Museum of the Italian Air Force. They also took part in the exercise the air rescuers of the 85th CSAR Center (Combat Search And Rescue) of Pratica di Mare and the staff of Vigna di Valle Airport. For the occasion, the Stormo helicopters were set up with special floats, mounted under the skids, to allow the aircraft to land and move on the water. The objective of the activity was to to increase the technical-professional skills of the pilot personnel, those peculiar to the support and management components of the Department, promoting standardization, efficiency and reactivity in flight operations on water.These training events stem from a dual need, that of optimize the procedures and methods of intervention in case of need and that of implement experiential baggage in joint operations, all aimed at making the competition to safeguard human life and the rescue of the population ever more timely and effective.
The 72 ° Stormo, the only school in the rotary wing sector in Italy, is the Department dependent on the Air Force Schools Command / 3 ^ Air Region of Bari, which trains the helicopter pilots of the Arma Azzurra, of the other Armed Forces and Corps State armed, as well as foreign visitors. The collaborative synergy developed in the field of training at the Frosinone Helicopter School is part of the perspective of continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources. The Wing will be the protagonist, in the near future, of the joint project for the establishment of a helicopter training school with joint connotations, which will see the Air Force in the position of lead service, in accordance with the letter of intent signed between the Heads of Staff of the Air Force and Army.
