This morning, the Technical Agreement was signed between the Chief of Police - Director General of Public Security, Lamberto Giannini, and the Chief of Police of the Canton of Ticino Matteo Cocchi - in the presence of the President of the Cantonal Council, Norman Gobbi - which regulates the management of the information flow between the authorities of the two countries competent to issue police authorizations for carrying out work in the private security sector.

In fact, the Swiss legal system allows private security and private investigations to be carried out - similar to what happens in Italy - only after the applicant has ascertained good conduct. The Agreement governs the verification of this subjective assumption by the competent authorities of the two countries, simplifying the exchange of information with the adoption of a standard model that must be used by the Swiss and Italian sides for the request and acquisition of information, in this way, identifying a shared procedural process that avoids the risk of dismissal of the over one thousand Italian workers already employed in the sector in the Canton of Ticino.

The signing of the agreement - strongly supported by the Minister of the Interior, Luciana Lamorgese - provides an immediate and concrete response to the serious employment concerns on the Italian side, encouraging new hires in Swiss supervisory institutions.
