On Wednesday 6 July 2022, at 10.30, the day dedicated to sustainable mobility will take place at the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation. On this occasion, two new charging stations for electric vehicles will be inaugurated, installed in the courtyard of honor of the Farnesina and the "Emilia 4" four-seater solar car, made by Alma Mater Studiorum - University of Bologna, will be shown to the public. as part of a bilateral scientific cooperation project with Serbia, co-financed by the Farnesina. During the event, the agreement between the Ministry of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation and the company E - GAP will also be presented, which offers MAECI staff a facilitated service of charging electric vehicles through van distributors, even in the absence of fixed columns.
The event will be attended by the Undersecretary of Foreign Affairs and International Cooperation, Manlio Di Stefano, the Director General for the promotion of the country system, Enzo Angeloni and the Director General for administration, information technology and communications, Nicandro Cascardi. On the occasion, Undersecretary Di Stefano will announce the 13 applications for environmental sustainability projects carried out by the Diplomatic Network as part of the “Farnesina Verde” award, the Farnesina program for the promotion of ecological initiatives.
Morena Falcone is also expected to participate, among the pilots who led "Emilia 4" to the victory of the American Solar Challenge in 2018 and the European Solar Challenge in 2021. Falcone, PhD in Automotive for Intelligent Mobility at the University of Engineering of Bologna, is an integral part of the technical staff of the project.
