A Russian-made military plane crashed during take off from Boufarik airport, southwest of Algiers. The number of victims is still unknown, but according to local media, more than 200 soldiers were traveling on board.
The plane crashed on an important road artery. Some witnesses reported seeing one of the engines go into focus immediately after take-off.
