The Ancona State Police together with the Judicial Police section of the local Municipal Police, coordinated by the Public Prosecutor's Office at the Court of Ancona, carried out 5 precautionary custody orders against a civil servant working for the Municipality of Ancona and n. . 4 construction industry entrepreneurs held responsible for aggravated corruption

The articulated and complex investigative activity, which began in the autumn of 2018, saw as the main protagonist the public official of the Municipality of Ancona who, violating the cardinal principles of the good performance of the public administration, or the principle of transparency, cost-effectiveness, fairness, as well as non-observance of the respect of the principle of rotation of invitations and assignments of works, paid the compensation directly and systematically always to the same group of "friendly" companies included in a real "cartel", a multitude of works largely never carried out and, in numerous other cases carried out only in part and for a value far lower than that corresponding to the public money paid.

In return, the public employee received from the "friendly entrepreneurs" any form of illegitimate utility found during the investigation.

During the investigative activity other criminal offenses emerged that involved other 30 people, under investigation, for various reasons for the crimes of:

  • Office abuse
  • Material and ideological falsehood in public acts
  • Disrupted freedom of charms and environmental matters
  • Aggravated fraud against the state aimed at obtaining public funds
  • Rejection of official records

There are still ongoing n.10 local searches delegated by the Judicial Authorities against part of the suspects involved in various ways in the judicial affair.
