From March to December 2022, 12,9 billion euros disbursed to Italian families with reference to 9,6 million children

The update of the Statistical Observatory on the Single Universal Allowance (AUU) was published today, which also contains the data relating to the AUU intended for the core recipients of Citizenship Income (RdC).

The Observatory therefore provides a complete picture of the essential statistical information on the beneficiaries of the measure and the related economic values with reference to the period March-December 2022 (https://www.inps.it/it/it/dati-e- balance sheets/statistical-observatories-and-other-statistics/paper-data—auu.html).

For the observation period, checks totaling 12,9 billion euro were disbursed to households. The expenditure relating to households that do not receive CIs is equal to 12,3 billion euros, with reference to an audience of approximately 5,7 million applicants and 9,1 million children who are beneficiaries of at least one month's salary; the average monthly amounts were €233 per applicant and €146 per child.

There are 498 households receiving CIs with at least one month's salary supplemented by the single allowance, with reference to around 845 dependent children, of which approximately 464 belong exclusively to CI recipients. For them, the AUU supplement was calculated by subtracting, from the theoretical amount of the allowance due, the share of Citizenship Income relating to the children who are part of the family nucleus; the average monthly amount of this supplement was €166 per household.

For households that do not receive social security benefits, approximately half of the allowances paid per child refer to beneficiaries belonging to households with an ISEE of less than 15 euros; around 20% of the children, on the other hand, belong to families that have not presented ISEE. For them, with reference to the month of December, the average amount per child, including the applicable increases, ranges from just under €50 (for those who do not present ISEE or exceed €40) to €195 for ISEE classes up to at 15 thousand euros. It should be remembered that the basic amount of the allowance for each minor child, in the absence of increases, ranges from a minimum of €50, in the absence of ISEE or with an ISEE equal to or greater than 40 thousand euros, to a maximum of €175 for ISEE up to 15 thousand euros.

The amounts of the grant due for the year 2023 will be determined taking into account the provisions of article 4, paragraph 11, of Legislative Decree no. 230/2021, pursuant to which the grant and the related ISEE thresholds are adjusted annually to changes in the cost of living index; furthermore, according to the provisions of the 2023 budget law, the amounts due to minors within the first year of life and those for large families will be increased. The regulation also stabilized the increases made during 2022 in favor of adult disabled children and confirmed the increase in any transitional increase for households with disabled children.
