The Minister of Infrastructure and Transport, Paola De Micheli, has signed decrees that unlock the agreements for the Asti - Cuneo and Satap companies (Turin Milan section).
The completion of the Agreements will allow the completion of the long awaited A33 Asti - Cuneo motorway link, according to suitable solutions both in infrastructural and economic terms.
In order to reconcile all needs, in particular, the minister maintained a constant dialogue with the concessionaire company and with all the institutions, through which the sustainability of the project, the transport adequacy and the compatibility with national regulations were verified. and community.
To allow time optimization and to exclude the expiry of the approval measures, the Ministry has already allowed the company to carry out the construction work in July 2020.
The completion of the Asti - Cuneo connection will allow continuity of the motorway sections in operation, providing the area with an important infrastructure for the development of industry and tourism.
The section to be built is divided into two lots (2.6.a - 2.6.b) for a total extension of 9,8 km. Section 2.6.b affects the municipalities of Alba, Roddi and Verduno already has the approval measures and the works can be completed in 2 years. At the same time, lot 2.6.a will be approved and the subsequent execution will be completed by 2024.
