Aeronautica Militare: newborn baby in imminent danger of life transported from Sardinia

Yesterday evening, Tuesday 10 April, the Air Force carried out the urgent transport of a patient of a month in imminent danger of life.

The Falcon 50 aircraft of the 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino took off following the request received at the Sala Situazioni di Vertex of the Air Squad Command by the Prefecture of Cagliari. The Situation Hall of Vertice, in coordination with the Prefectures present throughout the national territory, is responsible for the management of missions of this type in favor of the community.

The aircraft, arrived in Cagliari to embark the newborn, accompanied by his father and the medical team, took off from Alghero in the late evening and then landed at Ciampino after about an hour's flight. Here the little patient was immediately transported to the hospital "Baby Jesus"To receive the necessary care.

Missions of this type require constant operational readiness. The Air Force's aircraft are available to citizens every single day of the year, 24 hours on 24, with vehicles and crews able to operate in complex weather conditions, ensuring the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life and medical teams, as in today's case, but also in organs and ambulances.
