Aeronautica Militare: emergency medical transport for a child in danger of life

Today, Wednesday 27 June, the Air Force carried out the urgent transport of a 90-day-old child in imminent danger of life.

A Falcon 900 from 31 ° Stormo of Ciampino took off at the request of the Prefecture of Sassari, which was sent to the Top Situation Room of the Air Squad Command, which authorized the mission. The Summit Situation Room is in constant contact with the Prefectures throughout the country to arrange and manage missions of this and other type in favor of the community.

The aircraft, which arrived in Alghero to embark the child together with a medical team who constantly assisted him, took off around 12:00 and then landed in Ciampino after about an hour of flight. Here the little one was immediately transported to the “Bambino Gesù” hospital to receive the necessary treatment.

For this type of missions, which require very quick reaction times, the Air Force maintains assets and crews in a state of operational readiness, available to citizens every single day of the year, 24 hours on 24, able to operate in meteorological conditions complex, ensuring the urgent transport not only of people in imminent danger of life and medical teams, as in today's case, but also of organs and ambulances.
