Military Air Force: emergency medical transport of a foreign tourist in imminent danger of life was carried out

An HH-212 helicopter of the 80 SAR (Search And Rescue) Center of Decimonannu in Sardinia carried out an emergency medical transport to the Brotzu hospital in favor of a 62-year-old foreign tourist in Imminent Danger of Life (IPV) who was aboard a cruise ship that passed through the Sardinian channel 80 miles from the mainland. Previously, the Air Force helicopter had embarked the medical team to be transported on the cruise ship at the Marino hospital in Cagliari to reduce intervention times to a minimum.

Recently, the SAR Center of Decimomannu also received a solemn commendation which once again testifies to the value of the work carried out daily in support of the community thanks to a spirit of sacrifice and constant dedication in carrying out its institutional tasks.

The 80 ° Centro is one of the departments of the 15 ° Stormo of the Air Force that guarantees 24 hours on 24, for 365 days a year, the search and rescue of the flight crews in difficulty, also contributes to public utility activities such as the search for missing at sea or in the mountains, the emergency medical transport of patients in danger of life and the rescue of serious traumatized.

Since its establishment to date, the crews of the 15 ° Stormo have saved around 7.300 people in danger of life.
