Banks: online the audio guide dedicated to sustainability in the bank

The audio guide is online to support citizens in understanding the concept and initiatives of sustainability. With simple and essential information, the audio guide provides indications on what contribution can be made, through one's own choices, including financial ones, to sustainable development, therefore in the balance of social, environmental and economic conditions. Produced by ABI in collaboration with the UICI National Spoken Book Center, the audio guide is conceived with a simple and immediate language, and is in support of blind and visually impaired people thanks to its fully usable format.

Free and digital, this new tool offers an audio version of the contents of the guide created by Abi in collaboration with banks and consumer associations to offer citizens, even less experienced ones, an informative support to spread the knowledge of a new economic model. which in decision-making processes takes into account environmental and climatic, social and business management (ESG, acronym from the English Environment, Social and Corporate Governance) aspects, an approach that is increasingly relevant also at European level.

The audio guide, whose contents are divided into questions and answers to guide the world of sustainable finance, focuses on the citizen and his ability to play a significant role in the development of practices aimed at sustainability. With the aim of raising awareness of the banking world 's commitment to sustainable development, the guide describes the various ways in which banks can communicate what has been achieved, both through their channels of relationship with customers and citizens, both with the Non-Financial Statement (DNF).

The audio guides

The initiative is part of the actions envisaged by the memorandum of understanding between ABI - the Italian Banking Association and UICI - Italian Union of the Blind and Visually Impaired Onlus APS, for the implementation of joint activities and experimental financial information and education projects. The commitment of the banking sector in terms of accessibility, in line with the main indications contained in the European Act on Accessibility, is developed within the activities promoted by ABI to promote the financial and social inclusion of citizens.

The audio guides are already available online: on the Total Cost of Payment Accounts Indicator; on useful tips for fraud prevention, with a specific focus on elderly people and people with low financial literacy; on the main features of the basic account service; on the new regulatory framework given by the transposition of the European MiFID2 Directive on investment services; on the new European rules on the classification of debtors in "default"; on how online payments have changed with the European Psd2 directive; and to facilitate the use of ATMs and Pos.
