Banks: Abi, from the 2009 "moratorium" installments for 466.680 Pmi

From August 2009 until March 2018 were accepted 439.729 applications for suspension of payment of installments for a total amount of residual debt equal to 126 billion euros and greater liquidity available to companies of 24,9 billions of euros. Furthermore, 26.951 applications for the extension of the amortization plan equal to 7,7 billion euros of residual debt were accepted.

This is the effort of the banking sector with the initiatives promoted by Abi on supporting the availability of credit for SMEs. Starting from the first "Common Notice" of the 2009 to the "Business in recovery" tool, valid until July 31 2018 - which is part of the broader "New Agreement for Small and Medium-Sized Enterprises" - the banking world has confirmed its support for the various economic sectors, throughout the crisis and now in the phase of economic recovery.
In this case it is the possibility for all "in bonis" SMEs to:
- suspend the principal amount of mortgage and leasing installments, including subsidized or finalized with bills;
- lengthen the mortgage amortization plan and the maturities of short-term credit and agricultural credit.

The analysis on the distribution of applications for economic activity of the applicant undertaking shows that:
• The 25,1% of applications refer to "business and hotel" businesses;
• The 14,3% of applications refer to "industry" companies;
• The 18,1% of the applications refer to companies in the "building and public works" sector;
• The 9,3% of applications are related to companies in the "crafts" sector;
• The 7,1% of applications refer to "agriculture" companies;
• the remaining 26,1% to "other services".

The analysis of the territorial distribution of the applications received, by the registered office of the applicant undertaking, shows that:
• The 62,1% refers to companies resident in Northern Italy;
• The 20,9% refers to companies resident in Central Italy;
• 17,0% refers to companies resident in South Italy.
