Colleferro, large operation by the Carabinieri: 46-year-old reported for gangmastering and two locals fined

Reports and sanctions for violations of health and hygiene regulations and workplace safety, fines of 20.000 euros. This is the result of the operation, carried out over the weekend, by the Carabinieri of the Colleferro Company, with the collaboration of specialized colleagues from the Labor Inspectorate and the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Rome, who deployed 27 patrols and over 50 men and women as part of an extraordinary control plan of the territory, including in places of movida, in line with the action strongly desired by the Prefect of Rome Lamberto Giannini within the Provincial Committee for Public Order and Security, aimed at combating situations of illegality.

On Saturday afternoon, the Carabinieri inspected two businesses, in one of which the owner, a 46-year-old foreigner, was reported for exploitation of labor so-called gangmastering against two fellow countrymen. Specifically, the man is seriously suspected of having repeatedly paid wages that were clearly inconsistent with national/territorial collective agreements and in any case disproportionate to the quantity and quality of the work performed, in violation of the legislation governing working hours and in violation of the rules on safety and hygiene in the workplace. Furthermore, during the investigation, the Carabinieri ascertained the presence of an irregular worker (illegal) and that the 46-year-old had failed to provide adequate training to workers and to guarantee minimum safety conditions in the workplace, for this reason criminal and administrative sanctions totaling 5.000 euros were imposed against him, with consequent suspension of activity.

Late Saturday morning, the Carabinieri of Colleferro together with those of the Anti-adulteration and Health Unit of Rome inspected additional businesses and fines of 48 euros were imposed on two business owners, a 40-year-old from the province of Frosinone and a 3.000-year-old originally from Bangladesh. In the first case, for hygiene-sanitary deficiencies and in the second case for failure to implement the company self-control plan Haccp.

On Saturday and Sunday evening, 13 undisciplined motorists ended up in the sights of the Carabinieri of the Colleferro Operative and Radiomobile Unit and the Gavignano Station (driving without a license, lack of insurance coverage, lack of MOT, driving without a front license plate) fines for violations of the Highway Code for over 11.000 euros were imposed on them. The military took criminal action against one of them because the driver, a 30-year-old from Colleferro, was caught driving, despite having had his license revoked.
In the latter case, the vehicle owned by the mother was also administratively seized for three months, and was subsequently entrusted to a suitable person.

The Carabinieri of the Gavignano Station searched a young student and found her in possession of a homemade joint, which led to a report to the Prefecture of Rome.

During the checks carried out by the Carabinieri of the Colleferro Company, which covered both the main communication routes and the streets of the centre, particular attention was paid to the places where young people gather to ensure healthy entertainment.
