Conte: “The curve is slowing down, no to new restrictions”.

Prime Minister Conte, on the strength of data that show almost stable data at the moment, will not impose new national restrictions leaving full discretion to the various governors. Arcuri will officially take care of the operational plan for the distribution and storage of the German-American vaccine arriving in Italy as early as January 2021.

(by Andrea Pinto) The contagion curve as a result of the last dpcm is settling at almost stable values, slightly down: we went from 17% of the infected-swabs ratio to 14,6% yesterday. The figure that still raises concern is the number of deaths which yesterday recorded 623 cases with the increase of patients in intensive care which exceeded 3300 places throughout the national territory on a total capacity of 8800 extendable to 10000 according to the inventory of devices , existing between civil protection and Regions.

The increase in hospitalizations in intensive care and not a little shakes the thoughts of the Minister of Health Roberto Speranza that in the daily meetings between the CTS, the Government and the Regions he is always the most intransigent in favoring a tightening of restrictive measures at the national level.

Contrary, at the moment, to a general lockdown is the Prime Minister, Giuseppe Conte who yesterday during the umpteenth meeting said: "We cannot change after a few days. The curve is slowing down. The first Dpcm with the obligation of masks even outdoors and the early closure of bars and restaurants are already showing their effects. In a few days, the results of the last tightening should also arrive, with the curfew at 22 pm and the closure of high schools for everyone and the introduction of red zones in some regions ”.

The premier then added: "The three band system is working. This does not mean that further restrictions will not be introduced because the Minister of Health can always bring the regions or cities most at risk to the red zone ”.

Today there will be the new data of the regions and we will decide on Campania, Veneto, Friuli-Venezia Giulia and Emilia-Romagna

On the vaccine front, the government has decided to entrust the emergency commissioner, Dominic Arcuri the task of coordinating the distribution and storage plan of the first vaccine which should arrive at the end of January, Arcuri yesterday said in fact: one million and seven hundred thousand Italians will be vaccinated.

Arcuri, according to Ansa, is already in dialogue with the Ministry of Defense. According to what is learned, as happened for the distribution of medical devices in March, the capabilities of military personnel will be made available.

There should be one for the distribution of vaccines 'ad hoc' logistics by the Defense, among other things already engaged and successfully tested in missions for long-range logistical support such as operations in Operational Theaters abroad (use of huge refrigerated containers to store Pfizer-Biontec vaccine which requires a temperature constant of at least 80 degrees centigrade).

At the moment, as is already the case in Milan for the flu vaccine, the hypothesis that the military can also be used to administer the doses is not excluded.

Defense experts should, therefore, take care of the logistical aspects, which could also include the setting up of vaccination points in order not to clog up the already collapsed territorial health structures.

Conte: “The curve is slowing down, no to new restrictions”.
