From today for 15 countries, where the contagion curve is very low, there is freedom of movement across the border without having to observe the 14-day quarantine. Italy has decided to opt for the line of prudence. In the list of non-Shenghen countries that will have to observe the quarantine period there are also Japan and the United States (Italy received 5 billion from American tourists throughout the year)  

The European recommendations can be reassessed every two weeks according to the state of the outbreak. In Italy, on the recommendation of the Minister of Health, Roberto Speranza, all citizens from non-Schengen nations will have to observe the period of fiduciary isolation and health surveillance. Countries not allowed to cross over are the USA, Russia, Brazil, India and Israel. The non-Shenghen countries to which Europe opens its borders freely without "isolation" are there'Algeria, Australia, Canada, Georgia, Montenegro, Morocco, New Zealand, Rwanda, Serbia, South Korea, Thailand, Tunisia and Uruguay.  With regard to the China there is the green light only in the face of reciprocity. The European recommendations are not binding on EU countries even if the goal is to maintain a common line in unison. Coldirettì has estimated that the closure of the borders to American tourists alone, for the summer season, will produce a loss of about 1,8 billion. Donald Trump did not digest the Brussels decision: "Europe wanted to avenge itself for the decision with which the White House closed the borders to European travelers last March, accused of not having acted promptly to stop the infections ”. However, the EU has clarified how the decision should not be read as a political choice but due to higher health security reasons. In fact, the US is not experiencing a peaceful moment, due to the 40 new cases a day in the last week. Yesterday virologist Anthony Fauci said at the congress: "The new cases in the US could reach 100 per day, with risks for the entire country ”.

The Trump administration, however, is already thinking about retaliation: closure of the US borders to those arriving from Europe, or to exacerbate the war of trade tariffs on EU products.

It sounds strange, very strange how in the face of border closures to countries such as Japan and the US there is an opening, on condition of reciprocity, to China.
