"I thank all of you for how and for what you are doing in this delicate moment for the Nation"- this is how the Chief of the Defense Staff, General Enzo Vecciarelli, addressed the Men and Women of the Armed Forces of the operations room of the Joint Chiefs of Operations (COI), welcomed this morning by General Luciano Portolano, Commander of the IOC . This thanks was very significant for the men and women of the Air Force, who today are celebrating the 97th anniversary of the establishment of the Arma Azzurra in a delicate historical moment, which sees it engaged in synergy with the other Armed Forces and the other bodies of the state to deal with the COVID19 health emergency.
"I am very satisfied with the promptness, professionalism, speed and above all the efficiency with which the Armed Forces at this time and in the past few hours have responded to the requests and needs received from the Civil Protection and from the other departments involved in the management of this health emergency that has affected our compatriots throughout the country and abroad. Special thanks to you from the monitoring room which, without stopping, on holidays and in the middle of the night, activated the operational procedures necessary to put in place all the contrast measures, strongly desired by the Minister of Defense Guerini, which are developed with various activities that go from the north to the south of the peninsula thanks to the constant dedication of all the men and women of the Army, Navy, Air Force and Carabinieri, always ready to make their contribution, when called, also in the awareness of taking risks for one's health"- this is how the Chief of SMD concluded his speech.
