Covid- 19. Mazzarano: “An additional 10 million were unlocked yesterday to support the social fragility caused by the pandemic”

"It will now be up to the Apulian municipalities to manage, based on the number of inhabitants, the additional 9,3 million euros that the Region has made available, after the first 11,5 million, yesterday approving the text of the law" Extraordinary measures to cope with socio-economic consequences deriving from the Covid-19 pandemic ". Thus in a note the regional councilor of the Pd Michele Mazzarano referring to the contribution deriving from the regional autonomous budget.

The 29 municipalities of the Province of Taranto will receive an additional 1.307.873,56 euros. Wanting to examine only some municipalities, however of different sizes, these are the new resources that will arrive in the area: 425.580,05 in Taranto, 108.628,33 in Martina Franca, 72.547,35 in Grottaglie, 75.842,09 in Massafra, 36.146, 64 in Laterza, 26.552,11 in Pulsano.

“This is in fact the second disbursement of resources by the Region in the space of a month. In fact, the resolution by which the council assigned 11.5 million, resources that have already been distributed by the municipalities, of which 1.617.263,04 euros for the 29 municipalities of the Ionian Province, dates back to the first days of April.

"The meeting of the regional Council yesterday which took place with the use of the telematic platform, made necessary by the measures of social distancing, did not prevent to hit another important result that looks at the economic and social fragility of the moment"

"Therefore, interventions like yesterday's become essential: on the one hand we try to guarantee support to those who live in conditions of unease, on the other - concludes Mazzarano - we avoid creating a social tension that could generate consequences that are certainly difficult to manage" .
