Covid-19: "Staff with security clearance, very precious in the USA"

The lieutenant general David Thompson, deputy commander of the American space force stated that despite the ongoing pandemic, Russia and China continue to launch military missiles and test space weapons. Last month, Russia tested a missile capable of hitting satellites in orbit. Also in April, a Chinese rocket carrying an Indonesian satellite failed to reach orbit.

From a functional point of view, it has been found that today in the USA the personnel, in possession of authorization to handle classified documents and information, have become particularly valuable. Since mid-March, over 30 million Americans have filed for unemployment, including those employed in jobs that require adequate and above all still valid security clearance. Now due to the economic volatility caused by the pandemic, the demand for personnel in possession of adequate and valid security clearance has increased from companies working in the nation's strategic production and which are reopening their gates. The request for such personnel is motivated by the fact that with the Administration active at 30% due to smart-working, it is really difficult to activate the already long procedures required to obtain a security clearance.
