Credit down to businesses: we confirm the accuracy of our data

After a couple of days from the question and answer that took place with the ABI (Italian Banking Association), the CGIA Studies Office once again reiterates the correctness of the data published in the note of last November 6 which are taken, in absolute terms , from the Statistical Base of the Bank of Italy (BDS) which provides the dynamics of loans to businesses (non-financial companies + producer households) month by month.

On the other hand, it should be noted that the percentage changes indicated by the ABI in subsequent replies always refer to the Bank of Italy source, but are calculated through a statistical data cleaning procedure that takes into account any securitization / sale of loans from bank balance sheets. and other reclassifications, value adjustments, changes in exchange rates; moreover, these variations are calculated on slightly different quantities since - being loans - they also include repurchase agreements in addition to loans and, in addition, they do not concern all companies as they only consider non-financial companies (thus excluding companies up to to 5 employees, called producer families).

With regard to these "correct" quantities, it would be important for absolute data to be published, especially at the regional and provincial level, in order to have more precise territorial information on the monthly dynamics of loans to businesses (also including producer families) taking into account these reclassifications.
