Army and "La Sapienza di Roma" University, at the "Celio" Military Polyclinic, degree course in nursing

It was signed this morning, in the Central Military Library of Palazzo Difesa, in the presence of the Army Chief of Staff, Corps General Danilo ERRICO, and the magnificent rector of the University of Rome "La Sapienza", Professor Eugenio GAUDIO, the Convention for the activation of a degree course in nursing that will take place at the “Celio” Military Polyclinic in Rome. General Errico, during his speech, thanked prof. Gaudio and highlighted how the importance of training the Army health personnel is a priority in order to "guarantee the soldiers engaged in Peace Operations a high standard of health care as if they were in Italy". The agreement, whose project was launched in 2013 by the Army Logistics Command and the Faculty of Medicine and Psychology of the “La Sapienza” University, represents an extraordinary opportunity for the Armed Force and for the University. The degree course, which will be held entirely at the "Celio" Military Polyclinic, in fact provides for a rate of places reserved for military personnel, including volunteers on a fixed basis for 1 or 4 years, thus realizing what is indicated in the "White Paper for defense and security ", where it is hoped that the period of service spent in the Armed Forces should also be aimed at" returning "to the Nation citizens who, in addition to the valuable baggage acquired during military service, also achieve professional qualifications that facilitate their insertion into the world of work.

A degree program, therefore, addressed both staffing the stars as well as young boys and girls who are not part of the Armed Forces but who aspire to become future nurses. "Celio" is in effect a new university campus, in which the students will participate in healthcare activities, studying pathologies, injuries and organizational situations that would hardly be seen in other university or healthcare contexts.
