Taranta Night: It will be a unique show

Raphael Gualazzi, who was entrusted with the Concertone of "La Notte della Taranta" in Melpignano (Lecce), promises, to all music lovers, "it will be a unique show".

At the event, now in its twentieth edition, about 200 thousand people are expected and will see the participation of numerous artists such as Gregory Porter, jazz star and winner of two Grammys; the American Suzanne Vega; the Israeli Yael Deckelbaum; the Italians Boomdabash.

The 21 members of the Popular Orchestra will be joined by David Bowie's guitarist Gerry Leonard; Rolling Stones saxophonist Tim Ries; and the Cuban percussionist Pedrito Martinez.

While the first ballerina of Scala, Salentina Nicoletta Manni, will dance on the choreography of Luciano Cannito.

The artists participated this morning in the press conference to present the event, together with the Apulian governor Michele Emiliano, who stressed that "we support the Night of the Taranta event with great determination, a symbol of Apulian culture because we still have the claim to change the world respecting all the cultures we meet, every friendship, every bond, every encounter, every experimentation ".

The theme of this edition, in fact, is peace. And tomorrow at 21 pm, after the minute of silence in memory of all the victims of terrorism, a message will be read in which Dario Solesin, brother of Valeria, the Italian researcher killed in 2015 in the attack on the Bataclan in Paris, takes sides against the fear: "We will continue to dance, sing and live the world - says Dario - because you will not erase our smile and our desire to live".
