RAI5: Animal Strategies - survival techniques

What behaviors and survival techniques do animals, from the smallest to the largest, from predators to prey, adopt in an often adverse natural environment? This is revealed by the series in six episodes entitled "Animal Strategies", which Rai Cultura offers from tomorrow at 14.50 on Rai5.

All living beings develop basic behaviors and techniques for their survival: animals must nourish, reproduce, grow their own small, defend themselves from predators, and adapt to conditions that are often hostile. The series shows how monkeys, gazelles, big mammals and small animals live, survive and interact in the great jungle that is nature.

In the first appointment, we discover the winged world and its peculiarities. There are over nine thousand species of birds on the planet, very often different in size, shape and color, but all derive from the same evolutionary strategy. They descend from reptiles: the front legs have been modified and transformed into wings giving them the power to fly and colonize practically all places on the planet. From penguin to eagle, everyone has found their environment and developed specificities. In birds, morphological features such as leg length or beak size optimize feeding strategies. To ensure the survival of the species or defend the offspring, each bird has invented surprising behaviors.
