From Libya, the Russian group Wagner sends migrants to Italy

The weapon of migrants is used against Italy and Europe from the coasts of Libya under the control of the militias of General Haftar, who is supported by at least two thousand mercenaries of the Wagner Group linked to Russia.

To write it is "The Republic", which cites sources of the Italian security services explaining: "Libya is a cannon aimed at the Italian electoral campaign: immigration is perhaps the most powerful weapon for those who have
interest in destabilizing and therefore interfering in the political elections in September ”.

In fact, in recent days, the number of migrants arriving on the Italian coasts has increased, coming from two areas in particular, the coasts close to the ports of Derna e Tobruk, area of ​​Cyrenaica, notoriously controlled by the general Khalifa Haftar. From there the boats leave where between 500 and 600 people gather and are then taken offshore by the ships of the various NGOs that have been garrisoning the Mediterranean for years.

a child rescued by the Italian Coast Guard who was on a shipwrecked boat. With him were 674 other migrants: Syrians, Egyptians and Palestinians. Five had died of hunger and thirst. Between Sunday and Tuesday, 72 dinghies loaded with migrants from Libya and Tunisia arrived on the island of Lampedusa.

The number of migrants disembarked in Italy since the beginning of this year is 38.778, compared to 0 in the whole of 27.771. In 2020, at the height of the pandemic, 12.999 migrants arrived. After the decline in February and March of this year, a suspicious increase was recorded in April and May, which continued throughout June and July.

According to "La Repubblica", the Italian secret services raised the alarm weeks after the outbreak of the war in Ukraine, on February 24, warning that Moscow could use its strong influence in Cyrenaica to facilitate and increase the departures of migrants, with the consequence of increasing asylum applications.
