General Debertolis, new president of the National Association of Aeronautical Officers

The 9 April the aerial team general Claudio Debertolis, former Secretary General of Defense and National Armaments Director  he became the President of the National Association of Officials ofaeronautics (ANUA). The Association is born the 26 June 1951 from the merger of the National Association of Aeronautical Officers from the Permanent Effective Service (ANUAPSE) and from'National Union of Aviator Officers (UNDUA)The association, initially constituted by officers on leave of every order, grade and specialty, was, subsequently, open to a wider participation of all the officers of the Air Force both in service and in retirement, as well as supporters and sympathizers of the Blue Weapon.

The Association is finally included in the list of Military Associations and recognized by the Ministry of Defense with DM of 5 Agosto 1982.

The general's greeting Debertolis, in assuming the prestigious position:

It is with great pleasure and pride that I assume the Presidency of this prestigious Association that boasts such a long-standing tradition and I am really pleased to greet you and express and share with you my thoughts at this moment so significant to me.

I must confess that until a few weeks ago I had no idea of approaching an associative reality, but I was in a situation of strong discomfort due to a deep nostalgia for my period of service of past experiences, for the battles faced for the improvement of our skills Aeronautics, Defense of the country's security.

In reaching the age limits, I preferred to choose a path that would see me still alive in this sector and I dedicated my experience to some industrial realities of this country, in the belief that I could continue a path that always sees us removed too soon to our duties and with work habits and dedication difficult to change.

In the world of Defense Industry, a very strategic and very important asset for our country, I found many people of great value and great technical skills, but also a great difference in the environmental situation. Often people do not have the support of an organization where the founding values are very clear, often they deviate from prosaic reasoning and behavior that leave little space for pride in belonging. Leaderships often do not take much care of the state of mind of their staff, because they believe they must follow practical logic where the person only counts for what he can give, not for what he feels. This is not good.

Therefore, I would simply like to tell you that we have been extremely lucky to experience our work in an environment where there is a sense of belonging, the idea of being at the service of the state and the community and the pride of wearing a uniform that has represented since 1923. strength, modernity, ability to use and manage the existing high-tech tools. These are all aspects that we internalized naturally, without realizing how extraordinary they were, how enriching they were, how much they constituted a certain reference in a world where no value is taken for granted. In our world what one feels is important, because dedication and giving a lot to the community are born from that feeling. That's good.

Now those who leave the service no longer have duties to perform, but all the immense patrimony of values received is still there, and indeed, having no longer the commitment established by the Institution, they can manage it well and dedicate themselves to this patrimony and begin to give oneself alone and voluntarily other duties to preserve it, live it, transmit it, make it a flag to be displayed in all circumstances. When Mario Majorani proposed me to apply, the meaning, the reality, the morally beneficial potential of an association like ours suddenly appeared to me in all its strength ”.
