Defense, new synergy: Army helicopters for joint training arrive at the 72nd Wing of the Air Force

Two RH-2016C helicopters of theItalian army they landed at the 72 ° Flock of the Italian Air Force of Frosinone to kick off the provisions of the agreement signed last November 29 between the Command of the Schools of the AM / 3rd Air Region and the Aviation Command of the Army (AVES).

Air Force instructor pilots, the only Armed Force responsible for issuing the Military Helicopter Pilot Patent, and specialty instructors of the AVES they will work together to train eleven new Army pilots.

The completion of the redeployment will take place in March, when the Army component will reach a rate of twelve military personnel including technicians, specialists and specialty instructors and four helicopters.


The synergy between the two Armed Forces will make it possible to optimize the skills and timescales necessary for the achievement of the Military Helicopter Pilot Patent (BMPE) in favor of AVES students who have already completed the theoretical lessons in preparation for flight training at the Frosinone helicopter school. 

The 72nd Wing, the only school in the sector of the rotary wing in Italy, is the Department dependent on the Air Force Schools Command / 3rd Air Region of Bari, which trains helicopter pilots of the Blue Army, of the other Armed Forces and Bodies Armed with the state, as well as foreign visitors. The collaborative synergy developed in the field of training at the Frosinone helicopter school is part of the defense policy lines with a view to continuous improvement of training and contextual optimization of resources.
