Defense, Vecciarelli inaugurated the NATO Sfa Coe: "collective defense, crisis management and cooperation for security"

The Chief of Defense Staff, General Enzo Vecciarelli, in his speech today in Cesano for the inauguration of the NATO Sfa Coe said: "The NATO Center of Excellence for Assistance to the Security Forces (Nato Sfa Coe) is part of a broader effort to support all three fundamental tasks of the Atlantic Alliance: collective defense, crisis management and cooperation for the safety."

Also present at the ceremony was the deputy chief of Staff resource & Management of the Allied command transformation, Major General Nerim Bitlislioglu who in his speech said: "The specific expertise of this Center and support for the NATO command structure, the force structure and other separate entities of the Alliance "are indispensable".

The ceremony was also attended by the Chief of Staff of the Republic of Albania, General Bardhyl Kollcaku and the Deputy Chief of Defense of the Republic of Slovenia, General Robert Glavas as representatives of the Sponsoring Nations.

The NATO Sfa Coe, which sees Italy, Slovenia and Albania as Sponsoring Nations, is a project born in 2016 on the proposal of the Italian Ministry of Defense with the aim of creating a reference hub dedicated to promoting the efforts of Alliance for stabilization and reconstruction in any crisis scenario. The task is to contribute to the development and testing of concepts, doctrine, lessons learned in operational theaters and to the standardization of capabilities within the Alliance in the Sfa sector in the context of training and training activities in favor of local security forces ( Local Security Forces) guided to create and develop sustainable capabilities over time. The Center was formally established on December 13, 2017 with the signing of a Memorandum of Understanding between the participating nations and the Allied Command Transformation (Act) and achieved NATO accreditation in December 2018.
