The Ministry of Agricultural, Food and Forestry Policies announces that the first meeting between Minister Gian Marco Centinaio and regional agricultural councilors was held today. Also present at the meeting were the two undersecretaries Alessandra Pesce and Franco Manzato.
The topics discussed were various: the reform of the CAP and the cutting of European funds for agriculture, the reform of Agea, the labeling and traceability of Made in Italy products.
“Today - declared Minister Centinaio - we are starting a new season of confrontation between the Ministry and the Regions to concretely support our agri-food sector in full compliance with competences and roles. Based on these assumptions, it will be my commitment to start shortly with our work program a tour of fortnightly visits in each region to understand the problems of the individual territories and find solutions together ".
"Our goal - says Undersecretary Pesce - is to share experiences and knowledge to start a process that sees the Regions at the center of agricultural policy choices in the coming years".
“Through this centrality of the administrations - declares Undersecretary Manzato - we will be able to build a government action suitable for each territory and able to enhance our agri-food heritage”.
