Mozambique, progress in the commercialization of LNG under the Rovuma LNG project, in 4 Area

- The onshore gas liquefaction trains of the Rovuma project (Rovuma LNG project) will be fueled by the offshore gas fields of Area 4

- The partners of Area 4 are negotiating the purchase and sale agreements relating to the project's LNG

- The Final Investmet Decision (FID) is expected in 2019

Washington DC, 28 June 2018 - Eni and Exxon Mobil announced today that the negotiations on the commercialization of LNG (LNG) projected natural gas (LNG) are progressing. The Rovuma LNG project will produce, liquefy and sell the natural gas produced by the 4 Area offshore gas fields.

The company representatives of the joint venture related to the 4 Area (Exxon Mobil, Eni, CNODC, ENH, Kogas and Galp) met today at the World Gas Conference in Washington, DC to share and confirm progress.

"The main strength of the 4 Area lies in the quality of the partnership", commented Massimo Mantovani, Eni's Chief Gas and LNG Marketing and Power Officer. "After the final investment decision concerning the floating South Sea gas melt unit (FFLNG)) reached in 2017, we are working together to develop the remaining gas fields that will power the liquefaction trains of the Rovuma LNG project, drawing maximum benefit from the skills and expertise of all our partners ".

"We have made significant progress in terms of commercialization and now we are continuing negotiations on LNG binding agreements for the Rovuma project with some affiliated companies of the 4 partners", stated Peter Clarke in the World Gas Conference. , President of ExxonMobil Gas and Power Marketing Company. "These commitments will enable us to move forward towards the final investment decision, which we expect to take in 2019".

The initial phase of the Rovuma LNG project will involve the development of the Mamba fields, in the 4 Area, and will help provide consumers with reliable and cost-effective energy and create long-term economic value for the Mozambican population and for the 4 Area partners.

Exxon eniMobil Moçambique Limitada will guide the construction and operation of liquefaction trains and related onshore plants for the Rovuma LNG project, while Eni will drive the upstream developments and operations. In parallel with the commercial aspect, the partners are also progressing in financing activities and working with the Mozambican Government to approve the project.
