State Police and Eni, renew the agreement to prevent and combat cybercrimes

The agreement between the State Police and Eni was renewed in Rome for the prevention and combating of computer crimes involving information systems and services of particular importance for the country.

The agreement, signed by the Chief of Police-General Manager of Public Security Franco Gabrielli and the Chief Executive Officer Eni Claudio Descalzi, falls within the scope of the directives given by the Minister of the Interior for the enhancement of the activity of prevention of cybercrime through the stipulation of agreements with operators providing essential services.

The Postal and Communications Police is in fact daily committed to guaranteeing the integrity and functionality of the IT network of the strategic level structures for the country through the National Anti-Crime Information Center for the Protection of Critical Infrastructures.

Eni operates in over 70 Countries, carries out activities considered vital for collective needs and represents a critical infrastructure of national interest and, therefore, it is necessary to ensure the integrity of the IT systems functional to the pursuit of the company strategy. In fact, Eni is undertaking a deep process of digitization of its activities aimed at cutting-edge and efficiency, starting from the world's most powerful industrial computing system, which the company has adopted.

The agreement represents a significant step in the process of building an effective collaboration between public and private: a project which, in consideration of the insidiousness of cyber threats and the mutability with which they occur, is an essential tool for the realization of an effective system to combat cybercrime, therefore based on information sharing and operational cooperation.

At the signing of the agreement were present for the Department of Public Security, the Central Director for the Traffic Police, Railway, Communications and for the Special Departments of the State Police, Roberto Sgalla and the Director of the Postal and Communications Police Service, Nunzia Ciardi . While for Eni, in addition to the Chief Executive Officer, Dr. Claudio Descalzi, the Chief Services & Stakeholder Relations Officer Dr. Claudio Granata and the Senior Vice President of Security Dr. Alfio Rapisarda.
