Angolan President João Gonçalves Lourenço meets Eni's CEO Claudio Descalzi

The company has also signed an amendment to the 15 / 06 Block that expands the 400 km2 block

The President of the Republic of Angola, João Gonçalves Lourenço, and Eni's Chief Executive Officer, Claudio Descalzi, met today in Luanda to discuss Eni's activities and initiatives in the country.

On the sidelines of the meeting, Eni and Sonangol signed an amendment to the Production Sharing Agreement of the 15 / 06 Block that defines the new perimeter of the block, expanded by 400 km2 on the west side. This is in line with Eni's strategy to increase exploration activities in the country, looking for opportunities close to existing production infrastructures. After the discovery of Kalimba 1 in June 2018, Eni has launched an accelerated exploration program that provides for the drilling of 4 exploration wells. If successful, this strategy will allow accelerated development of new resources, exploiting synergies with existing infrastructures and significantly reducing time-to-market.

In addition, new start-ups already launched in 2018, and others planned in the coming months, will allow production to be increased up to 50 kboed. Production will arrive at 170 mila kboed plateau early next year.

Block 15/06 (Eni Angola, Operator 36,84%, Sonangol P&P 36,84%, SSI 26,82%) is located approximately 350 km north-west of Luanda and 130 km west of Soyo, in deep between 200 and 1.800 m. The developed fields of Sangos, Cinguvu, Mpungi, Ochigufu and Cabaça SE are connected to the two FPSOs Ngoma and Olombendo, which have an overall capacity of

treatment of 200 kbopd. The FPSO Ngoma and Olombendo started production respectively in November 2014 and in February 2017.

The Eni partnership with Sonangol also includes activities in the downstream sector, with actions to improve the efficiency of the Luanda refinery and support the development of future plants, as well as the exploitation of gas and the development of renewable energy projects.

Eni is present in Angola from the 1980. Equity production amounts to 150.000 barrels of oil equivalent per day. The extension of the contract area of the 15 / 06 block positions Angola as one of the key countries in Eni's exploratory growth strategy.
