From Luigi Di Maio's party, therefore, no comment on the outcome of the vote in Russia: the line of non-interference in the affairs of other countries has been respected. A year ago he was in Moscow to sign a cooperation agreement between the League and United Russia. In the 2015 he had met Putin himself in Milan, in the margins of the Asem summit. For now, however, Salvini has not made any statements on the subject of Russia. Some leaguers were in Moscow during these election days, as witnessed by photos published on the profiles of the Lombard League, but not in an official capacity. The leader of via Bellerio prefers to rely on the usual Giancarlo Giorgetti, who is also the party's foreign director, and the other deputy secretary, Lorenzo Fontana. The ambition is to be able to act as a 'bridge', once in government, between Russia and the United States. Counting, they say, on a greater harmony not only with Putin but also with Donald Trump.
