With the latest events presented yesterday by the Armed Forces at the Oval pavilion of the Lingotto Fiere (Stand W114), the Defense concluded its participation in the XXXIV edition of the Turin International Book Fair.
About 1000 guests in total attended the over 30 events of the Defense Staff and the Armed Forces, which took place over the five days of the event, from 19 to 23 May.
Several thousand visitors, among the approximately 168.000 in total, crowded the Defense stand to learn about the editorial offers of the Armed Forces.
The topics dealt with by the Armed Forces and the Defense Staff have ranged from technological innovation fundamental to face the new challenges of modern operational scenarios to its historical and cultural roots. In particular, the Defense Staff presented the volume entitled "AFGhanistan ... with your head held high ...", twenty years of military operations in Afghanistan told through the images, memories, emotions and testimonies of the protagonists. The event was moderated by the editor of the book, Director of the online magazine Defense Analysis, Gianandrea Gaiani in the presence of the Chief of Defense Staff, Admiral Cavo Dragone, of the Army Corps General Masiello, current Deputy Chief of the Defense Staff and former Commander of the Regional Command West within the ISAF Operation and of the Army Corps General Camporeale former deputy commander of the Resolute Support mission.
During the closing press conference, the President of the cultural association "Turin, the City of the Book and Salone Libro srl", dr. Silvio Viale thanked, among others, the Ministry of Defense for his presence at the XXXIV edition of the Salone. Subsequently, in his closing speech, the Director of the Book Fair, Nicola Lagiogia, made an appointment for the next edition to be held from 18 to 22 May 2023.
