Defense: Covid-19 positive Army chief

After governors, provincial presidents, mayors and many Italians also a key figure of our Army, the Chief of Staff, General of the Army Corps, Salvatore Farina, tested positive for Covid-19. So a note from the Army General Staff spread the message of General Farina: "Today I underwent the Coronavirus test, testing positive. I am fine, I am in isolation in my accommodation, in compliance with the directives issued by the government authorities and the health protocols envisaged; on the basis of which we are proceeding to verify the contacts in the last few days.

I will continue to perform my duties and will be replaced, for the activities in which I cannot take part, by General Bonato. I extend a warm greeting and heartfelt thanks to the women and men in the Army who work to deal with this emergency in the operational, logistics and health sectors.

It is hoped, therefore, that the cases in the General Staff will be limited, also because the whole entourage of General Farina constitutes the great part of the top structure of the Army.
