(by Arturo Siniscalchi, Vice President Aidr and Deputy General Manager FormezPA) Covid has in fact been a significant driver for the accelerator of processes for digital development. From small and medium-sized enterprises, passing through the different levels of public administration, there is no public or private reality that in recent months has not interfaced with digitization, of which platforms for meetings, video conferences and smart working, the sale with -commerce, social media marketing, or even electronic submission of documents, are just some of the most representative aspects. This extraordinary revolution that has totally reset and revised our operational paradigms, will certainly have repercussions on our entire system. On the digital front in particular, the pandemic has brought out those who had already bet on innovative processes and strategies even before the emergency. Let's think for example of one of the most representative realities of our economic system that has been able to grasp this change for some time, Poste Italiane. With this in mind, we can read the more than positive data with which Poste Italiane closed the third quarter of 2020 with a net profit of 353 million euros, up 10,3% compared to the same period in 2019.

The CEO and General Manager of Poste Italiane himself, Matteo Del Fante, provides a very clear reading of the numbers indicated above. “The digital strategy of the group and the effective corporate reorganization are important enablers in the realization of our plan - he underlines in the margin of the presentation of the data. In particular, we have centralized our digital and technological transformation operations in a single unit that plays a key role as enabler in the Digital, Technology and Operations sector. Since the beginning of this difficult year - added Del Fante, the Italians have clearly confirmed their trust and loyalty towards Poste Italiane, through all distribution channels, with a constant increase in multi-channel transactions and on third-party networks. . We have been able to enrich our distribution platform with an additional network (digital and third-party networks) which now manages almost a third of the transactions currently carried out by our post offices. Our solid customer base has also enabled us to achieve record net retail inflows of € 9,8 billion in the first nine months of 2020, helping to reach € 556 billion in total financial assets ”.

These numbers have resulted in, among other things, an increase in the efficiency of services to citizens, businesses and the public administration, of which Poste Italiane is a partner. Fast times, safety, reliability, were also the keys to success of Poste, which was able to find in digital an opportunity for business growth for the benefit of the whole community.
