ABI, 22-24 November 2nd edition Salon of Payments

A great opportunity for information, dialogue and discussion on the present and future of payments. And, together, an incubator of ideas on innovation in financial services, and a discussion meeting capable of promoting dialogue between banks, entrepreneurs, PA, professionals, institutions and citizens. All this is Il Salone dei Pagamenti - Payvolution, the event organized by ABIServizi and promoted by ABI, Feduf - Foundation for financial and savings education, Consorzio CBI, Consorzio ABI Lab, under the patronage of the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID) - Presidency of the Council of Ministers, which will hold its second edition in Milan on 22, 23 and 24 November at the MiCo (Milano Congressi, via Gattamelata 5).

“We have chosen to open the Payments Exhibition to the general public - explains Giovanni Sabatini, ABI General Manager - because the opportunities of digital and innovative payment solutions cannot remain just a conference theme for professionals. They are determining factors of competitiveness and development for the entire country. For this it is necessary to involve everyone, starting with families and students, to get to professionals, the world of VAT numbers, businesses, academics. Together, obviously, with the operators of the sector: banks, financial intermediaries, Regulators and Institutions. The success of participation that the Salone recorded last year demonstrates the interest there is on these issues ".

After the great success of the first edition - which was attended by almost 4 thousand people, 80 partners, 44 exhibitors and 300 speakers - the Salone dei Pagamenti confirms also for 2017 its innovative format consisting of a rich calendar of conferences and appointments with free admission , from a large exhibition space in which to get to know and experience the new solutions proposed by the technological partners and from personalized financial education courses.

The macro-themes of the 2017 edition

There are 8 thematic areas that will be explored in the 3 days of the 2017 edition of the Salone dei Pagamenti: the Future of payments, Bank (r) evolution, Mobile & Millenials, Cashless Shopping, Payments and digital society, Regulatory Trends, Fintech & RecTech , Security.

“The payments sector is in constant turmoil. On the one hand - remembers Sabatini - digital technologies offer new possibilities to make payment even simpler, faster and safer, even on the move. On the other hand, the introduction of European regulations has opened the market to new operators and to fintechs. In this scenario, banks are at the forefront and are investing to favor effective and safe tools that meet the new needs of citizens and businesses. However - Sabatini emphasizes - common rules are needed for all operators, and further steps forward to be taken to reach an equal level playing field ”.

To make the 2017 edition of the Salone dei Pagamenti even more interesting is the now imminent entry into force of the European directive PSD2, set for January 2018, which will redesign the relationships between banks and the new non-bank players that will be able to operate in the ecosystem payments. The Payments Hall, bringing together the major players in the banking sector and the fintech world, will therefore be a privileged opportunity to analyze repercussions and prospects. Furthermore, it will address all the main trends that characterize the evolution underway: from instant payments, which are expected to spread rapidly with the entry into force of pan-European platforms, to the application of Blockchain technologies, to the system for creating a company and a digital Public Administration.

The Salone dei Pagamenti takes place under the patronage of the Agency for Digital Italy (AgID) - Presidency of the Council of Ministers and is organized in collaboration with Feduf - Foundation for financial and savings education, Consorzio Bancomat, Consorzio CBI, ABI Lab Consortium, together with Digital Magics, FinTechStage, FPA and Netcomm.
