Eni is with Italy in the fight against coronavirus

Eni, in support of those who are at the forefront of managing the health emergency in the country, on the basis of the numerous experiences in health projects gained in the world, puts in place a significant series of interventions that will be immediately operational in the medical and social field.

Eni is the sole partner of the Agostino Gemelli IRCCS University Hospital Foundation for the construction of the COVID 2 Hospital in Rome (formerly Columbus private hospital), which will be exclusively dedicated to the treatment of coronavirus patients. The facility will have 130 beds including 50 in intensive care, as well as advanced technologies in the diagnosis of the disease with X-ray, CT and transthoracic ultrasound. The hospital will be operational from March 31st. As part of the same operation, an emergency room dedicated to coronavirus patients will also be set up inside the Gemelli Polyclinic.

The company, in addition, with the IRCCS Luigi Sacco Hospital in Milan will create a new emergency room dedicated to infectious diseases.

In Pavia, with the IRCCS Policlinico San Matteo, Eni participates in the construction of a high-level isolation unit in the infectious diseases department.

With the IRCCS Policlinico di San Donato, on the other hand, it will ensure the supply of medical equipment such as resuscitation monitors and personal protective equipment.

Eni is also financing public utility information campaigns with the Italian Federation of general practitioners on the role of the family doctor as the citizen's first interlocutor against COVID-19 but also that, under study, in favor of the elderly to inform them of the services to which they can access for daily life, not being able to leave their home.

Finally, the company is in the process of finalizing partnerships with the CNR Complex Systems Institute and with the Istituto Superiore di Sanità for the use of calculation and modeling capabilities for medical research related to infectious diseases, the supercomputer Eni / HPC5 among the most powerful in the world.

In addition to these operations, Eni is currently studying and discussing other initiatives in some areas of the national territory.

The economic commitment for this series of interventions is approximately 30 million euros.
