Project for the reconstruction of the Basilica of San Benedetto in Norcia damaged by the 2016 earthquake
Eni, as part of the agreement signed in January 2021 with the Ministry of Culture, the Archdiocese of Spoleto-Norcia and the Extraordinary Commissioner for the 2016 earthquake reconstruction of the Basilica of San Benedetto in Norcia, today presented the communication project from title “The Norcia Live Stones”.
Eni, as technical sponsor, is committed to carrying out the preparatory activities for the restoration at the forefront and providing support in the project management of the entire intervention, also carrying out communication towards the territory in a constant and progressive way, in order to keep updated the community on the progress of activities for the entire duration of the reconstruction intervention.
To achieve this goal, the project intends to launch a lively and innovative story that connects, in a coherent way, the multiple aspects connected to the reconstruction activities of the Basilica, in particular the spiritual, social and cultural one. The communication plan will also become an opportunity for a broader story about the Nursino area.
The communication will be articulated along the reconstruction process and will be made usable through the three main elements of the project:
The Info stone ”which, positioned in the square of San Benedetto, will act as an information point on the time schedule of the reconstruction works and as a link between the various elements of the project;
The Live House, a physical space in Norcia - within the DigiPASS Space in Via Solferino - from which it will be possible to visit the website and enjoy the in-depth contents on the reconstruction, on the projects undertaken in the area and on the contents aimed at enhancing Norcia and his own story. Inside will be installed the Live Stones, digital and multimedia stones made with LED panels, so called because they have the same shape as the stones of the Basilica and "live", as they are able to communicate through sounds, images and videos;
Il Cantiere della Comunicazione, an in-depth website that, starting from its launch, will make it possible to follow the various phases of reconstruction at a distance and also to deepen the spiritual, cultural and social aspects of the Nursino area.
In addition, events are planned to celebrate significant moments of the restoration that will take place throughout the year.
