On the evening of November 25, the historic headquarters at EUR will light up to support the "Orange the World"

On the occasion of the World Day against violence against women, "Orange day", Eni confirms its commitment to the promotion of gender equality and to the fight against all forms of discrimination and maltreatment, supporting the UN campaign "UNiTE", from November 25 to December 10 (International Human Rights Day), to underline how violence against women is one of the most pervasive violations of human rights globally.

Tomorrow, Wednesday 25 November from 18 to 24, for the first time Palazzo Mattei, Eni's historic headquarters in the heart of EUR in Rome, will light up in orange to raise public awareness on a fundamental issue which, in particular in this last period of health emergency, has shown in many countries an increase in cases of domestic violence due to two macro-factors: on the one hand the lockdown, which increases the risks and impacts of domestic violence and on the other the decrease in the offer of programs and structures available to victims, to use resources and funds in order to face the pandemic.

The color orange will be the common thread that will unite the initiatives at a global level, Eni will dedicate ample space on its website eni.com and on its corporate intranet myEni to prevent violence, through the creation of communication campaigns and initiatives focused on social and cultural, with an explicit reference to the pandemic and its negative impacts; courses dedicated to its employees on human rights, gender equality and against harassment; a call to action to share photos to stop the violence characterized by the color orange; stories and testimonies in support of the initiative.

Eni is actively engaged in promoting gender equality to achieve equality and empowerment (greater strength, self-esteem and awareness) of all women and girls, a priority in line with the SDG 5 sustainable development goal of Agenda 2030, which the company has included in its corporate mission and which more explicitly represents the path that Eni has taken to respond to universal challenges, contributing to the achievement of the Goals that the United Nations Organization has set in order to clearly address the actions that all actors must undertake.
