Eni joins, as lead partner, to be part of Ocean Energy Europe (OEE) and the Board of the Association, the largest European organization for the development of energy from the ocean.
With this assignment, the company will collaborate in tracing the strategic lines of the action of the OEE for the promotion of a policy and support framework for R&D aimed at marketing the technological solutions offered by the sea. OEE brings together the main groups operating in the utilities, business sector and also includes research centers.
By joining the OEE, Eni further strengthens its commitment to the development of the marine renewable energy sector and expands the network of existing synergies, which includes collaboration in the field of scientific research with the Polytechnic of Turin and the spin-off Wave for Energy Srl, as well as the partnership for the joint development of wave energy production plants on an industrial scale with CDP, Fincantieri and Terna.
Participation in OEE is part of Eni's transformation path, which in the last six years has adopted a new business model, a new corporate mission inspired by the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs), and has launched a long-term strategy term with the goal of becoming a leader in the sale of decarbonised products by 2050, drastically reducing emissions.
