Eni: new exploration license in the North Sea of ​​the United Kingdom

Eni has been awarded a new exploration and production license in the British North Sea as a result of the competitive tender called the 32nd UK Offshore Licensing Round.

The license, called P2511, covers an area of ​​approximately 340 sq km and is located in the northern North Sea about 250 km from the coast in water depths varying between 100 and 130 meters. The area is located near the boundary between British and Norwegian waters where several hydrocarbon discoveries have recently been made.

The license has an initial exploration period of six years and was awarded to Eni UK with 100% participatory interest and the role of operator.

By participating in the license, Eni renews its commitment to enhance the resources of the British sector of the North Sea in which it has been operating for a long time.

Eni has been present in the UK since 1964 and is active in Exploration and Production with a production of 55 Kboed, as well as in the Gas & Power, Refining & Marketing and chemical sectors. In October 2020, Eni was awarded a license for the storage of carbon dioxide in the offshore area of ​​Liverpool Bay in the eastern sector of the Irish Sea.
