Eni: Palazzo Mattei in Rome lights up orange for the world day against violence against women

Tonight an orange origami tulip with the inscription #ioConLei will be projected on the historic headquarters at Eur to support the "Orange the World" initiative

Also this year Eni joins "Orange the World" the United Nations campaign, which kicks off today on the occasion of the World Day for the Elimination of Violence against Women to reach December 10, the anniversary of the Universal Declaration of Human Rights . Eni thus confirms its commitment to the promotion of gender equality and to the fight against all forms of discrimination and maltreatment, underlining how violence against women is one of the most pervasive violations of human rights on a global level.

This year's theme "End violence against women now!" highlights the urgency of finding concrete solutions for overcoming this serious situation, which on a world level now has the dimensions of a real humanitarian crisis.

The color orange will be the common thread that will unite the initiatives worldwide. Tonight from 21 pm to midnight, Palazzo Mattei, Eni's historic headquarters in the heart of EUR in Rome, like other offices in the area, will be colored orange with an origami tulip that will form the word "#ioConLei": a collective "I" to testify the closeness to women victims of violence and raise public awareness on a fundamental issue that has worsened in recent times due to the pandemic, wars, humanitarian crises, unemployment and poverty, exacerbating gender inequality even more .

In addition, Eni will dedicate ample space on its website eni.com and on the company intranet MyEni, many internal communication initiatives will be promoted to sensitize all Eni employees in the world who become protagonists and witnesses of #IoConLei to say stop to violence against women. The company will provide its employees with a consultancy service, free and confidential, active 7 days a week, 7 hours a day for people who are victims of violence or gender harassment. As always, employee training activities are envisaged with courses on human rights, gender equality and against harassment.

Eni is actively engaged in promoting gender equality to achieve equality and empowerment (greater strength, self-esteem and awareness) of all women and girls, a priority in line with the Agenda's SDG5 sustainable development goal. 2030, which the company has included in its corporate mission and which more explicitly represents the path that the company has taken to respond to universal challenges, contributing to the achievement of the Goals that the United Nations Organization has set in order to address clearly the actions that all actors must undertake.
