Eni at the FuoriSalone 2019 with Circular Garden

Today in Milan, at the Orto Botanico di Brera, Eni presents its installation The Circular Garden, created within the exhibition "Human Spaces" organized by Interni magazine on the occasion of the FuoriSalone 2019. The installation was designed by the international design and innovation studio Carlo Ratti Associati with the contribution of some of the leading European experts in the field of mycology and its applications.

The aim of the installation is to accompany visitors on a journey that tells the story of Eni's commitment and innovations in the field of the circular economy, proposing concrete scenarios to overcome the current linear economic system. To do this, the installation experiments with the use of an unusual building material: mushrooms, whose fibrous root - the mycelium - has been used to create a series of arched architectural structures arranged in the garden of the Botanical Garden, each dedicated to a different activity of Eni in the field of the circular economy - from the energy efficiency of buildings to mobility.

Inspired by the symbolism of medieval fenced gardens, the installation intends to create a natural architecture, composed of mycelium that grows and develops organically with the same extraordinary intelligence of living beings. At the end of the exhibition the structures will be dismantled and returned to the ground, starting a new virtuous cycle of growth and offering the example of an encounter between architecture and the circular economy.

The project is based on three elements: the creation of an experiential space that allows visitors to the FuoriSalone to understand the scenarios of the circular economy and their impact on life in the city, also in relation to the many activities conducted by Eni in this area ; the search for innovation in the field of materials in the direction of greater sustainability; finally the experimentation of an increasingly responsive architecture, which exploits the properties and intelligence of natural materials.

Eni's participation in the exhibition reflects the company's strategic commitment to an increasingly sustainable energy future, which is also reflected in the application of circular economy principles to its activities: a path based on the transformation of existing assets and on the development of innovative technological and industrial solutions, which implies lower consumption of raw materials, lower environmental impact, recovery and recycling of waste and waste.

The installation will also offer visitors a series of in-depth studies on the topic of energy efficiency and on CappottoMio, the innovative Eni gas and electricity redevelopment service for apartment buildings, the result of a strong collaboration between the different professionalism of the Company and its partners . CappottoMio is not limited to the thermal insulation of buildings, but extends to the energy adaptation of condominium thermal power plants, also offering the possibility of taking advantage of all the tax advantages provided by ecobonus and sismabonus. Thanks to the credit transfer, the condominium that intends to install CappottoMio will therefore have the opportunity to reduce the initial expense immediately obtaining the benefits of the tax deduction, without waiting for the classic 10 years.
