Extradition to Italy of Artur Milaqi, an Albanian citizen, arrested at home under the "Metropolis operation"

He has just returned to Italy, escorted by the Agents of the SCIP - Criminalpol International Police Cooperation Service, Artur MILAQI, Albanian 32enne, arrested last February in Durres as part of the maxi "Operation Metropolis" and reached by arrest warrant European following the Preliminary Custody in Prison Ordinance issued by the GIP at the Court of Brescia for conspiracy aimed at international drug trafficking.

MILAQI held the position of leader, promoter and organizer of the transnational criminal association that introduced in Italy loads of drugs, coming from Colombia.

In fact, he maintained contacts with suppliers, managed the importation of cocaine from Holland and made use of accomplices for the distribution of the drug that reached the Brescia with cars equipped with ingenious rooms used as hiding places.

The "Operation Metropolis", based on the findings and technical activities of the Operational Section of the Carabinieri Company of Brescia, received the support of the International Police Cooperation Service and, for the capture of MILAQI, of the Office of the Expert for the security stationed in Albania, which promptly conveyed to the Balkan police all the elements useful for identification.

The formalities of arrest on the national territory will be carried out at the Fiumicino Air Border Police Office, and will then be associated with the competent Prison Office at the disposal of the Lombard judicial authority.
