Macario MARINIELLO, former exponent of the New Camorra organized by Raffaele Cutolo, returns to Italy today, escorted by staff of the SCIP Service for International Police Cooperation of the Department of Public Security.
The 60enne fugitive from the 2017 was tracked and arrested in Las Palmas in the Canary Islands the 27 last March, following the internationalization of the Pre-trial detention order in jail issued by the Court of Salerno GIP for aggravated extortion and aggravated wear in competition.
The activities, which led to the capture of Mariniello in Spain, are the natural continuation of the “Another story” operation which dismantled those armed criminal groups operating in the Nocerino-Sarnese countryside.
The investigations of the ROS of Salerno were the flywheel from which the SCIP, through the Division SIRe.NE (Supplementary Information Request at the National Entry) and the Office of the Safety Expert in Spain, provided useful details and support strategic to the Iberian police to stop the fugitive and bring him to justice.
Upon the arrival of Mariniello at Fiumicino, the formalities of the arrest on the national territory will be carried out at the Air Border Police Office, and will immediately be associated with the competent District House at the disposal of the Campania judicial authority.
