Chaos Champs-Élysées in Paris, yellow vests again in action

The movement born to protest against expensive fuel has today again turned the central area of Paris upside down. After more than three hours of scuffles between "yellow vests" and police forces in the Champs-Élysées area in Paris, the number of people arrested rises to 39. This was said by Interior Minister Christophe Castaner on Twitter. From the Bastille, another 200 demonstrators are converging towards the Champs-Élysées area, now parading peacefully and noisily along the rue de Rivoli. The police continue to block demonstrators who do not undergo searches at the entrance to the Champs-Élysées. In all, there are about 1.500 according to the Minister of the Interior on social media. A group of demonstrators tried to force a police checkpoint on the Place de l'Etoile and the agents reacted by throwing some tear gas.
