Trump at the UN in front of an icy audience, I sink to Macron on the "Iran" dossier

US President Donald Trump presided over the United Nations General Assembly for the first time in front of a cold audience. There was also some sarcastic giggles from the world representatives who attended. Trump warned Europe "that it wants to circumvent sanctions against Iran" and a frontal attack on China over alleged interference in the US elections and the regime in Tehran that "supports terrorism and creates instability in the Middle East region". Everyone is amazed by the fact that the American president has not uttered a single word against Russia, in his speech he has not even mentioned it.

The thrust on French President Emmanuel Macron, on the other hand, is very strong, "whoever circumvents the sanctions on Iran will suffer serious consequences". Macron's response is ready, reiterating that he does not share what he called "the Trump method": "The question of Iran cannot be resolved with a policy of isolation", nor by dividing the Western front.

The Italian prime minister, Giuseppe Conte, spoke for about ten minutes. Conte said that "when someone accuses us of sovereignty and populism, I like to remember that sovereignty and people are referred to in Article 1 of the Italian Constitution", but added that this approach does not change Italy's role within the international community and the United Nations.

Conte also spoke of Italy's candidacy for the United Nations Human Rights Council, and said that "respect for the inviolable rights of man is our beacon also and above all today when we are called to face the enormous challenges posed by serious and prolonged crises in the Euro-Mediterranean area, including migratory flows ».

Conte then spoke about Italy's role in managing migratory flows and recalled Italy's role in rescuing migrants in the Mediterranean, saying however that these problems need "a structured, multilevel, medium, short and long-term response. period by the international community ". Then Conte spoke about the Italian contribution to the work of the United Nations and to peace missions in the world, claiming the role of Italy in resolving the Mediterranean crisis and talking about the upcoming peace conference on Libya.
