Libya, Italian ship "Fezzan", donated to the Coast Guard

The Libyan Navy said it received the Italian ship Fezzan at the Abu Sitta naval base in Tripoli with 14 Libyan members on board.
Libyan navy spokesman Ayoub Qassim told Libya Observer that the ship was provided by the Italian coast guard to the Libyan counterpart as part of joint cooperation in the fight against illegal immigration and smuggling at sea.
“In four weeks, another boat and 10 rafts will be sent from Italy to Libya. This is not part of the 2008 agreement between Libya and Italy, ”added Qassim.
The Italian embassy in Libya said on Twitter that the boat that was sent to Libya on Sunday is 27 meters long and will be used by the Libyan coast guard to increase water monitoring and fight human traffickers.
"This is another step for the Italian partnership with Libya for a safer and more stable country." The embassy tweeted.
Last July, Italy approved the dispatch of Libya patrol boats and the allocation of 1,4 million euros over two years for training and maintenance.
